Teen injured in Lower Frederick bicycle crash

LOWER FREDERICK — An 18-year-old who crashed his bike on Riverside Avenue Wednesday was flown to a Philadelphia hospital for his injuries.

Elijah Zoegar was riding his bike down Riverside Avenue around 3:55 p.m. when he lost control and “traveled off the roadway” into the front yard of 12 Riverside Ave, according to a release from the Lwoer Frederick Police.

“He traveled across the property and couldn’t stop,” police said. “He launched off the side yard into a chain-link fence traveling at a high rate of speed. The bicycle became entangled in the fence and (Zoegar) was ejected.”

Police said Zoegar “travel(ed) in the air and came to rest in the driveway of 14 Riverside Ave.” next door.


Zoegar lost consciousness and reported pain to Lwer Frederick Ambulance personnel who arrived and treated him.

“Due to the seriousness of the injuries, (Zoegar) was flown from the scene to Hahnemann (University) Hospital,” police said.
