Pete Grohoski still ranks among the world’s best athletes when it comes to powerlifting.

The Phoenixville resident recently earned his second consecutive second-place silver medal during the IPF Bench Worlds competition in England. He recorded a personal-best lift of 589 pounds. A competitor from Japan captured the gold medal.

Grohoski’s success has attracted some new sponsors to the field. They include The Gym and Tan Line Studio in Norristown, ATP Extreme, Rock Tape and the Iron Authority.

He is also writing fitness articles for magazins like Natural Magazine.

Grohoski will compete again in August in San Antonio for the bench press nationals.
