CONSHOHOCKEN — A joint investigation by Conshohocken and Limerick Township police has resulted in the arrest of 28-year-old Francis “Frank” Laurenzi of Conshohocken, who is charged with statutory rape and other offenses in connection to alleged sexual contact with a 16-year-old girl.
Laurenzi owns Urban Elegance Dance Club at 110 Fayette St. in Conshohocken. He was also a dance instructor at LeRoux Dance Studio at 301 N. Lewis Road in Royersford.
According to court documents, the victim began receiving private dance instruction from Laurenzi at the Royersford location in June 2012. After a private lesson in August 2012, when the victim was 15, she alleges that Laurenzi sent her a text message telling her he sensed a mutual attraction and asking, “Are we going to do anything about it?”
About a week later, during another private lesson, the victim and Laurenzi allegedly engaged in sexual activity that continued on an intermittent basis and escalated after she began taking lessons at Laurenzi’s newly-opened Conshohocken studio in May 2013. The victim stated that Laurenzi was fully aware of her age from the beginning and expressed concern about getting caught.
The victim also alleges that she took semi-nude pictures of herself at Laurenzi’s request and sent them to him via email. Laurenzi allegedly sent at least one of those photos to another man.
Laurenzi is also charged with corruption of a minor, indecent assault (on someone under 16), and manufacturing and possession of child pornography.
He was arraigned before District Judge Francis J. Bernhardt Wednesday and remanded to the Montgomery County Correctional Facility after failing to post bail of $100,000.
Police chiefs Michael Orler of Conshohocken and William Albany of Limerick Township issued a press release urging anyone with additional information regarding this or any other incident involving Frank Laurenzi to contact detectives at 610-828-4032 or 610-495-7909.
