Collegeville's Main St. to remain open as Ursinus commencement moved indoors

(Updated at 5:46 p.m. May 14) COLLEGEVILLE ­— Main Street will remain open to traffic Friday after Ursinus College announced it was moving its commencement ceremony indoors to the Floy Lewis Bakes Field House because of a prediction for heavy rain. The commencement will still start at 10 a.m.

Main Street will closed between Fifth and Eighth avenues Friday, May 16, from approximately 9:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. for the Ursinus College Commencement Ceremony, according to the Collegeville Fire Company Facebook page (www.facebook.com/collegevillefire)

The fire company is asking drivers who need to travel through Collegeville at that time to follow marked detour signs to get around the closure or plan an alternate route.

Ursinus’ 141st commencement will take place on the lawn in front of the Berman Museum starting at 10 a.m. It is livestreaming the ceremony at http://client.stretchinternet.com/client/ursinusadmin.portal
