Perkiomen Valley area students awarded scholarships to PJPII

The Perkiomen Valley Council 3633 of the Knights of Columbus of St. Eleanor and St. Mary Parishes offered two $1,500 scholarships to The John Paul II Catholic High School. Each scholarship is for an entering freshman for the 2014-2015 term. These competitive scholarships were available to any Catholic eighth grade student enrolled in either St. Mary’s school or the Holy Cross Regional School at St. Eleanor’s or belonging to St. Eleanor or St. Mary’s Parish, regardless of where or how they complete their elementary education. The contest required the students to submit an essay on the topic of “What Does It Mean to Serve the Poor.” The winners of the second annual contest were Emily Abruzzo of Holy Cross Regional Catholic School in Collegeville and Camille Aman from St. Mary Elementary school in Schwenksville.
