EAST PIKELAND — A woman reportedly caught a pair of young men in her car and township police were able to respond quick enough to stop the two early Sunday.
Edward McCarthy, 19, of Schuylkill Township, and an unnamed 17-year-old were arrested early Sunday morning by the East Pikeland Police after the “alert” woman called police around 4:30 a.m. to report seeing people in her car, according to a press release.
McCarthy will face charges of theft of a motor vehicle, underage drinking, DUI, burglary and receiving stolen property.
He was also allegedly found to be driving with a suspended license.
The 17-year-old was charged with underage drinking, possession of drug paraphernalia, burglary and theft from motor vehicles.
“They were processed and released pending warrants being issued,” according to police.
EAST PIKELAND — Police arrested a man for allegedly driving under the influence when a small child was i nthe car with him.
Nathaniel McBride, 37, of Newtown Square, Pa., was allegedly found to be operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and with a suspended driver’s license around 10:40 p.m. at the intersection of Deger Avenue and West Bridge Street, according to an East Pikeland Police release.
Police were initially called to the 1100 block of Cambria Court.
“A small amount of marijuana was found on the front seat of his car,” when McBride was stopped, police said.
McBride was “processed and released pending a hearing at a later date and time,” according to the release.
