Phoenixville Community Education Foundation to hold annual dinner and auction

PHOENIXVILLE – The Phoenixville Community Education Foundation (PCEF) will host its annual dinner and auction on Friday, February 28th, from 6:00 pm – 11:00 pm at the Rivercrest Golf Club and Preserve. All in the community are encouraged to purchase tickets to this special gathering of teachers, administrators, parents and other supporters of education in the Phoenixville area, which is one of the largest and most popular events in the Phoenixville area each year.

Guests at the event will enjoy a buffet dinner in the spacious ballroom at Rivercrest. Both silent and live auctions will be held, with a wide variety of items, including jewelry, sports tickets, restaurant gift certificates, sports memorabilia, and much more available to the highest bidder.

Last year’s dinner was sold out and raised the largest amount of funds yet for the children of the Phoenixville Area School District.

This year PCEF will introduce an electronic bidding system through BidPal which will allow guests to bid on their smartphones. This will allow guests to bid from their seats without having to interrupt their evening to check on auction items they wish to win. Check out will also be streamlined through this process.

PCEF is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization that supports educational opportunities in the Phoenixville area and advocates for a first-rate education for our children. The organization raises monies to support programs and projects not funded by the school district.

Among the many programs funded by PCEF are:

·Mini-grants for teachers at all levels

·Summer Academics, which provides support for at risk children transitioning from kindergarten to first grade

·Scholarships for preschool students and graduating seniors

·Backpacks and supplies for students in need

PCEF’s goal is to reach every student from pre-school to 12th grade.
