Good Samaritan Shelter providing emergency shelter during severe weather

Good Samaritan Shelter’s Emergency Shelter program for men in Phoenixville has been busy serving the needs of individuals in need of a warm place to sleep.

The typical capacity for the single home is seven. However, with the life-threatening cold temperatures recently, the Shelter is often serving a couple of additional men each night. Since Dec. 1, the Emergency Shelter has housed 25 men.

Good Samaritan Shelter works to improve the lives of people experiencing homelessness by helping them find work, save money and move into permanent housing.

Nate Hoffer, Executive Director, comments: “We are here to help people in their time of greatest need. Our staff is doing an excellent job of providing great care to the residents of the Emergency Shelter. It is very important that we are here to help, and we couldn’t do it without the tremendous support we receive from the Phoenixville community.”

Residents of the Emergency Shelter program are provided three meals a day and case management services to help them address the cause of their homelessness.
