EAST PIKELAND — Two people were charged with indecent assault after investigating officers received copies of text messages from the suspects about the incident.
Benjamin Ford, 20, and Jacob Keyser, 19, both of Phoenixville, allegedly forced a female victim to drink vodka and smoke marijuana while they were at a house in the 1200 block of Durham Court on Jan. 6.
According to police, the accused allegedly began touching and kissing the victim after they gave her “copious amounts” of vodka. During an interview with police, investigators learned the victim’s phone was taken and that she was forced to drink so much she was unable to stand. They also said the suspects and the victim had five shots of vodka each.
Police said Keyser took the victim’s phone so that she could not call someone for help.
After police conducted interviews, they received a copy of text messages allegedly sent by Keyser to a friend of the victim. One said that the alleged acts, “Can’t even be rape,” and “The fact were 19 and 20 with a 17 girl on a school night drinking doesn’t look well at all.”
Both men were held on $10,000 bail at the Chester County Prison. They will appear in front of District Judge James V. Deangelo on Feb. 6 — Keyser at 9 a.m. and Ford at 10 a.m.
