Several area fire departments from Chester and Montgomery counties are benefitting from more than $90,000 in state grants.
Rep. Warren Kampf, R-Chester/Montgomery, announced the awards Monday and said he is happy to add state support to these local organizations.
The Friendship Diving Rescue Unit, Phoenix Hose Hook and Ladder Company No. 1 and West End Fire Company/EMS of Phoenixville were awarded more than $32,000 altogether.
The Lower Providence Community Center Ambulance and Lower Providence Township Volunteer Fire Company of Eagleville were awarded more than $20,000.
Black Rock Volunteer Fire Company in Mont Clare received more than $27,000 and the Township of Upper Providence Fire Department and Emergency Services in Oaks was granted $13,000.
The Pennyslvania Emergency Mananagement Agency and Office of the State Fire Commissioner administer the grants.
