LOWER PROVIDENCE — A home on the 2000 block of Blackbird Circle damaged by fire Wednesday afternoon was destroyed by a second fire later that night.
Montgomery County radio reported about 10 p.m. the fire had re-ignited. The home was soon engulfed in flames, and portions of the foundation collapsed.
The Lower Providence, Black Rock and Jefferson fire companies, as well as the Norristown Fire Department, responded to the call.
Wednesday afternoon, firefighters and rescue personnel from seven fire departments responded to the scene, and at least one person was taken from the scene in an ambulance. Firefighters with handheld chop saws scaled the two-story home on ladders and vented the roof, and the fire appeared to have been extinguished.
