‘Food Fridays’ kick-off
in downtown Pottstown
POTTSTOWN — A new lunch alternative begins Friday in downtown Pottstown as Food Fridays get underway. Several area restaurants will be set up in Smith Family Plaza, 100 E. High St., from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., offering selections from their restaurants.
“The idea of this event was started because we recognized that many throughout the borough often have little time for a long lunch break,” said PDIDA Main Street Manager Sheila Dugan. “Our goal was to allow them a taste of local fare and to help our local restaurants promote their great food in a relaxing, fun atmosphere.”
Restaurants expected to be offering lunch selections this week are: Argento’s, Lily’s Grill, The Milkman Lunch Co., and Grumpy’s.
In addition to lunch, Food Fridays will feature music. On Friday — catch a performance by Bees in a Bottle, performing from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Additional Food Fridays have been scheduled for July 18, Aug. 15 and Sept. 19.
