PHOENIXVILLE >> Phoenixville residents and those traveling from other areas were in for a treat Thursday evening, Sept. 21, as one of the greatest guitarists in the history of rock-and-roll took the stage at The Colonial Theatre.

Robby Krieger, best known as lead guitarist of The Doorsm also wrote several of the band’s greatest hits, including its biggest, “Light My Fire.”

With a full band and his son, Waylon, on vocals, they performed hit after hit of The Doors catalog with Krieger shredding the guitar notes and occasionally breaking out into a guitar solo. There were several ovations throughout the evening as the 71-year-old brought everyone to their feet with electric sounds.
