If you like the music of the shows “Chicago” and “Cabaret,” then you’re going to love Facetime Theatre’s “The World Goes ‘Round,” a musical revue of the great Broadway songwriting team John Kander and Fred Ebb, playing at the Lenfest Theatre of Ursinus College, Collegeville, Friday through June 1.
Packed with energetic singing and dynamic dancing, “The World Goes ‘Round” is a treat for the eyes and ears. Vivacious, funny, dramatic, sultry, jazzy and just plain fun, the show is a crowd pleaser from start to finish.
Kander and Ebb created the music for many of Broadway’s award-winning shows, including “Cabaret,” “Chicago,” “Kiss of the Spider Woman” and “Woman of the Year.” They wrote the title song for Martin Scorsese’s film “New York, New York,” which became Sinatra’s signature song as well as the city’s unofficial anthem.
“The World Goes ‘Round” features songs like “Cabaret,” “All That Jazz,” “Money,” “My Coloring Book,” “New York, New York,” “Coffee In A Cardboard Cup,” “Mister Cellophane,” “Maybe This Time,” and the title work “And The World Goes ‘Round,” to create one of the most memorable revues of all time.
