PHOENIXVILLE — Chester County’s premier orchestra, the Chesco Pops, will make the Phoenixville swing of its annual winter concert series this weekend.
At 3 p.m. Sunday, the Chester County Pops Orchestra will play the second of its three scheduled winter concerts in Phoenixville Area Middle School’s giant new auditorium.
This year’s show may be a little different than winter performances attendees may have seen in the past.
“‘Ellis Island: The Dream of America,’ by composer Peter Boyer, is a uniquely different and very entertaining multimedia performance with actors, video projections and original music,” said a release from the Pops. “This concert is truly moving and a powerful testament of the experience of thousands of immigrants in the first half of the 20th century.”
The winter series is the debut of Joseph Gehring, who took over for veteran Jacques Voois, who retired last year.
Ticket prices are set at $15 for adults, $12 for seniors 62 and older, and all children will be admitted for free.
Continuing to partner with non-profits, a percentage of Sunday’s ticket sales will go toward the Phoenixville Area Public Library.
Other shows in the circuit include one at Unionville High School at 3 p.m. Saturday and one at West Chester East High School at 7 p.m. Jan. 28.
