PHOENIXVILLE — Registration is open for the 2009-10 Phoenixville Area Police Athletic League (PAL) wrestling program for all kids ages 6 - 14 and any weight or size.
This is the 26th year that the Phoenixville PAL Phantoms will be competing in the Inter-County Wrestling League.
Practice sessions are held two nights a week on Mondays and Thursdays starting Monday, Nov. 9.
League matches are held each Saturday from Jan. 9 to Feb. 20. League matches are run by pairing wrestlers of similar age, weight and experience.
There are various novice (one or two years experience) and open tournaments held through out the year for those wanting additional competition. Unlike the league matches, you enter a specific weight and age division.
This is the second year that Phoenixville will have a Dual Meet team that travels to tournaments in Boyertown, Drexel Hill, Downingtown and Owen J Roberts. The s quad was very competitive in our first year improving with each tournament and is looking to continue that success this year.
Adults can register children at the pre-season parents meeting on Wednesday, Nov. 4, in the Phoenixville Area High School cafeteria at 7 p.m.
Registration will also be held at any of the practices through Monday, Nov. 23.
Additional information and the registration form can be found at www.phoenixvillewrestling.com or call team president Steve LaPorte at 484-213-3109 or head coach Brian Martz at 610-308-5401.
