Upper Merion police asking for public’s help to find Costco jewelry thief

UPPER MERION >> Upper Merion Township Police Department has released a surveillance image of a suspect involved in a burglary at the Costco Wholesale at 201 Allendale Road.

According to the police report, officers responded to an alarm at the building around 1 a.m. Feb. 6. The investigation revealed that the suspect somehow gained access to the roof and made entry by breaking through a skylight.

The thief then rappelled into the store and stole jewelry from a jewelry case before leaving through a rear door toward the Pennsylvania Turnpike.

According to a press release from the police department, the burglar is believed to be familiar with climbing sports.
