PMYC football heads toward Super Sunday

CHARLESTOWN - The Big Brothers Bears and Little Brothers Packers won Phoenixville Marian Youth Club (PMYC) football games at Charlestown Park on Oct. 4.
The Bears defeated the Vikings, 28-14, while the Packers stopped the Lions, 27-0.
Alex Washington scored two touchdowns for the Bears, who led 14-0 at halftime. Washington scored on a three-yard run in the second quarter and a 43-yard run in the fourth quarter. He also had two extra points.
Graham Light scored on a three-yard run for the Bears in the secon quarter. Travis Pannella had an extra point after Washington’s first TD.
The Bears’ Juan Brown scored on a 14-yard run in the third period.
The Vikings got a 12-yard scoring run from Josh Havrilak in the third stanza and a two-yard run by Tres Munro in the fourth period. Havrilak and Andre Moffatt made extra points.
In the Little Brothers contest, Tre Davis scored on an eight-yard run for the Packers in the second quarter and Mason Brill added the extra point. Desmond Johnson then had an eight-yard scoring run with Brill scoring the point after.
Josh Vincent had a three-yard scoring run to close out a 21-point second quarter with Brill adding the conversion.
Vincent raced 54 yards with a kickoff return for a third-quarter touchdown.

The Bears blanked the Vikings, 20-0, in a Big Brothers game on Oct. 5.
Andre Moffatt had a pair of touchdown runs for the Bears, covering 20 and 32 yards, both in the first quarter. Zion Quinn tacked on an extra point after the second TD.
In the third period, Juan Brown darted 64 yards for a TD, and Travis Pannella added the extra point.
In a Little Brothers game, the Rams defeated the Giants, 19-14.
The Rams opened the scoring as Gabe Nunez tallied on a three-yard run in the first quarter. The extra point was no good.
In the second quarter, the Rams’ John Vondercrone passed to Andrew Destefano for a 27-yard TD strike. The extra point was again no good.
The Giants got on the board in the second period as Dylan Pannella rambled 42 yards with a kickoff return for a TD. Antony Stevenson added the extra point.
Stevenson picked up a seven-yard TD run in the fourth quarter for the Giants with Jack Pizor chipping in with the extra point. The Rams sealed the verdict as Destefano ran 37 yards for a TD and also scored the point after.
