Spring-Ford Youth Athletic League Football and Cheerleading has completed construction of a new storage facility and field house.

The six-year-old league has over 400 boys and girls involved in its football and cheerleading programs.

The new structure can be found behind the Spring-Ford 5th/6th Grade and 7th Grade Centers on South Lewis Road. Ground breaking was in July 2013 in preparation for the 2013 season, with final games held on 11/9 and 11/10.

Many volunteers from the league, along with donations from local businesses and fundraisers, came together to improve facilities for our boys and girls.

According to Facilities Manager Vince Frigo, “We have built a field, complete with fence and goalposts, installed a well for field irrigation, had a scoreboard donated, and built a full service field house for the community to enjoy for years to come. This has all been done in three years. Our plan is to complete the project by 2015 with fan seating, more field maintenance and refinement, and to install a driveway for easier field access.”

In the coming months, the league will look to paint a mural on the exterior of the building displaying a message representative of school spirit and the pride that the youth league brings to the Spring-Ford community.
