Pennypacker Mills begins Holiday Tours Nov. 26

Schwenksville, PA Ė From a vintage-inspired Christmas tree to exquisite room displays, Christmas at the Pennypackersí is a feast for the eyes.
Tour Pennsylvania Governor Samuel Pennypackerís home decorated in true Victorian style. Delight in the vintage touches of the past with imported glass ornaments on tree branches, shiny ribbon strung through greens on mantles and windowsills, and childrenísí toys of long ago. Discover how the family spent the holidays and how so many of the traditions celebrated today, began over one-hundred years ago.
New this year, the servantís area will be open for tours. See the beautifully restored butlerís pantry, working kitchen, indoor laundry room, and the cookís bedroom. See how this home was on the cusp of modern technology with indoor bathrooms, hot and cold running water, central heat, and an indoor laundry area.
Guided tours of the beautifully decorated Pennypacker home begin on Tuesday, November 26 and go through Sunday, January 5, 2014, during regular business hours: Tuesdays through Saturdays, 10:00am to 4:00pm and Sundays, 1:00pm to 4:00pm. The site is closed Mondays and major holidays. Tours take approximately 45 minutes to an hour. Admission and parking are free, with a suggested donation of $2.00 per person.
Groups of ten or more should contact the site in advance to schedule a tour by calling 610-287-9349. A stop at the museum shop is included on all tours. The shop is stocked with vintage inspired gifts, ornaments, holiday candies, and much more. Cash, personal checks, or credit cards are accepted.
