Women's Library Club of Spring City Begins New Club Year

The members of the Women’s Library Club of Spring City started their new club year with a catered luncheon on October 1st at the Spring City First UnitedChurch of Christ. Hostesses were Jane Frain and Valeria Horne. They wereassisted by hospitality chairman, Judy Parfitt. June Nafziger gave the spiritualvalues reading. Following lunch Dena Schegel and Jeanann Seville of theValley Forge Pilot Club presented a program on the activities and projects of theirclub. They explained the many ways the Pilot Club helps people with brain-related disorders and disabilities through activities, education and financialsupport.

After the program, Pat Winner, president, conducted the monthly businessmeeting. The minutes of the last meeting were read by Dawn Shaner.

Included with the treasurer’s report and was the proposed 2013 – 2014 budget.

Members agreed to give $2000 to the Spring City Library as their annual donation.

Other committee reports were presented by Alethea Lynch, garden division; ValHorne, ways and means; and June Nafziger, corresponding secretary. DawnShaner gave an update on the construction of the new Spring City Library. Planswere made for a bake sale and the December holiday luncheon.

The next meeting will be at 1 PM on November 12 at the Spring City UnitedChurch of Christ, 145 Chestnut St., Spring City. New members are welcome. Forinformation call Joyce Brunner at 610 948 7551.
