Phoenixville’s Spring Mill Senior Living Community held its fourth annual End of Summer Party on Sat. Sept. 14. Approximately 70 Spring Mill residents, accompanied by family and Spring Mill staff, headed outside for the afternoon to celebrate Country Western-style.
“We had a huge tent set up and had Western fare for lunch with a pig roast,” said Activities Director Amy McCormick. “We also had the Bill Koss Combo, a local Pottstown band, playing music – they’re a big hit in our community.”
In addition to the food and dancing – including the staff entertaining party-goers with their rendition of the Boot Scoot and Boogie line dance – there were also several organized activities for both residents and their families, such as Wild West trivia and a lasso contest.
“It was good old-fashioned fun,” McCormick said of the event which also celebrated Spring Mill’s 4th anniversary. “We have heard only praise and happy comments from residents and their families. The residents see how much effort goes into putting everything together and they really appreciate it. We have a great community here and (the staff) will do anything to make the residents smile.”
