LIMERICK — For the first time under its new strategy, the Spring-Ford Area School District has an advertiser.
“Our sponsorship program that we rolled out late last year, we have our first sponsor,” said Spring-Ford Area School Board President Tom DiBello at Sept. 16’s workshop meeting. “Zoey’s Yogurt wants to take advantage of our corporate sponsorship which includes advertising at Coach McNelly Stadium, among other things.”
The sponsorship will cost Zoey’s Yogurt Bar, located in Upper Providence, $1,200, which will go to Spring-Ford.
In a unanimous vote, the school board approved the shop’s advertising purchase.
For the remainder of this school year, a scrolling advertisement will be displayed on Coach McNelly Stadium’s scoreboard for the cost of $350 and an advertisement banner is to be hung in the high school’s gymnasium at a price of $850.
In late November last year, Superintendent David Goodin presented on sponsorship packages that would be made available to local businesses to support the school district.
It seems Zoey’s did not use any of the packages but went with the “a la carte” option Goodin laid out.
According to the presentation, the sponsor can designate where half of its sponsorship purchase dollars can go, such as toward a specific athletic team or educational department.
The school board did not announce whether or where Zoey’s decided to direct half of its cash.
