On the afternoon of Friday August 30, as part of an investigation dubbed ‘Operation Merlin’, the East Pikeland Police Department seized an estimated $7,000 in heroine, $4,000 in cocaine and crack cocaine and $2000 in cash following the execution of a search warrant at 133 Merlin Road in Phoenixville. Taken into custody was Brooke Cermanski, age 32, who resides as the same address.
According to Corporal Bernard Martin, the investigating officer in the case, the operation had been going on for approximately six months and was based upon surveillance of the residence.
“It was just guys being aware of what was going on… …they were able to observe and paint a picture of what was going on at the house.”
With the assistance of the West Pikeland Township Police and the East Vincent Township Police, the warranted search of the property resulted in the discovery of 600 small bags of heroin, a large amount of cocaine and crack cocaine, cash and what Martin described as being “a lot of prescription pills”. Also taken from the home were drug paraphernalia and a small amount of marijuana.
Cermanski was arraigned before Judge DeAngelo and committed to Chester County Prison after failing to post $50,000 cash bail. Her hearing is scheduled for September 5 at 9 a.m.
