The WC Eagles of Spring City dominated the USA Field Hockey 2013 National Club Championships, winning all three national age groups: Under 14, Under 16 and Under 19.

During the nine days of the National Club Championships, in the scorching heat of the National Training Center in Virginia Beach, Va., WC Eagles repeated as Under 14 national champions, beating Northeast Elite, 9-0, in the final. The team added the Under 16 title by beating perennial rival PA Mavericks, 6-0, in the final, and retained their Under 19 championship with a 5-1 victory over Nook Hockey (PA).

The U14 team did not allow a goal and U16 gave up just one goal in the tournament.

I was especially pleased with our ball speed, our movement off the ball and accuracy of our passing, said WC Eagles coach Jun Kentwell. The girls maintained their shape and pressed high, creating a lot of turnovers, which allowed us to play a fast, offensive game.

As 2013 National Champions, each player was presented with a gold stick from premier tournament sponsor Harrow Sports.
