PHOENIXVILLE - Summer tennis clinics through the Phoenixville Area Recreation Department opened June 17 for a four-week program that will continue through July 19.

Then the annual “Orange Crush” Tournament will be played July 22-27.

Clinics are being held at Phoenixville High School, Fisher Court and Kimberton Park.

Clinics are designed for various ability levels of players entering Grades 2-12. Emphasis is on the six basic strokes: forehand, backhand, volley, serve, lob and overhed along with singles and doubles play strategies.

Divisions are for Beginners (Grades 2-5), Beginners (Grades 6-9), Advanced Beginners, Intermediate and Advanced.

Phoenixville boys tennis head coach Leo Scoda directs the clinics with assistance from past and current Phantom players.
