POTTSTOWN --- The Pottstown Rumble grass volleyball tournament has a packed schedule of events continuing through the weekend.
Thursday, June 20:Three-time Olympic gold medalist Misty May-Treanor is in Pottstown as part of the Dream in Gold youth clinic and tournament. She is conducting a youth clinic today from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Memorial Park. Two hundred kids and their club volleyball coaches from the region are participating.
Friday, June 21: On Friday, the nets at Memorial Park will be home to the Misty May Dream in Gold Juniors Grass Doubles Tournament for divisions from 10 and under to 18 and under. Registration begins at 9, with volleyball play starting at 10 a.m. The tournament will continue through the day, ending about 7 p.m., when May-Treanor will be at Smith Family Plaza on High Street in front of Pottstown Borough Hall for autographs and a meet-and-greet session.
Saturday, June 22: Men’s and women’s doubles tournament will begin on Saturday with registration starting at 7 a.m. Saturday. Tournament play will continue into the evening Saturday with live music and center-court action until about 9 p.m.
May-Treanor will be at Memorial Park to sign autographs around 2 p.m.
Sunday, June 23: Co-ed doubles, gender-blind quads and junior doubles will compete on Sunday with registration beginning at 8 a.m.
Food, music, beer tent: Food vendors will be set up in the park all four days of the Rumble, on Saturday and Sunday evenings until 11 p.m. The beer tent provided by Craft Ale House, of Limerick, and featuring Sly Fox beer brewed in Pottstown will be open Saturday and Sunday day and evenings.
Two live bands will be performing Saturday evening in the park.
