Renaissance Academy softball wins title

PHOENIXVILLE - The Renaissance Academy girls softball team captured the Tri-County Independent School League championship with an 8-4 victory over Perkiomen School on Tuesday, May 14. This title marked the Renaissance Acadmey’s initial Tri-County League championship.
The Lady Knights finished their regular season with an 8-3 record. They went on to beat West-Mont Christian Academy in the semifinals and Perkiomen in the finals.
Team players included the following: Cakroline Adams, Anna lgeo, Kelsey Berry, Robin Brown, Sara Correale, Chasity Foley, Lee Ann Hampton, Tory Hampton, Shannon Harper, Alexa Johnson, Fiona Kelly, Morgan Kerper, Shannon McGurty and Jordi Porter. Virginia Albany served as head coach with Ashley Sanders as assistant coach.
“I am extremely proud of both our coaches and our players,” said Renaissance athletic director Kevin Zvorsky. “This was a very experienced group of softball players, and they knew what they could accomplish and were able to achieve their goal. With next year marking the beginning of our full membership into the league, I hope this is just the first of many league championships for our athletic department.”
