ROYERSFORD — The third annual Spring-Ford Dancing with the Stars competition will be held on Saturday, March 23, at the Spring-Ford High School Auditorium.
Because of the record attendance last year, there will be two showtimes this year. The first will be at 4:30 p.m. and the second will be at 7 p.m., according to a press release.
The competition is sponsored by Students Need an Alternate Party. SNAP raises money for an alternative after-prom party that focuses on fun and keeping high school students safe.
“SNAP is bigger than giving kids a great party to help them celebrate their high school achievements,” Janice Johnson, a chairwoman for the organization said in the press release. “ It is about keeping them safe on a night that statistically is one of the most dangerous nights of the year for high school students.”
This year’s event will have 12 dance teams comprised of more than 100 dancers, the release said.
Tickets are $10 each and they can be purchased online. Voting for the best team can also be done online. Votes can go in early, or during the event, even if voters can not attend. The team with the most votes from both dance times will win a mirror ball trophy.
The auditorium is located at 350 S. Lewis Road in Royersford.
