WOMEN’S TRACK
Elizabethtown freshman Rachel Carr (Phoenixville) finished sixth in the 800 meters during the Collegeville Classic at Ursinus College. Carr was timed at 2:26.80.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
Janay Winston (Phoenixville) is a 5-7 junior forward at Penn State Abington. She has scored 215 points through 18 games for an 11.9 points per game scoring average for the Lady Lions (8-10 overall, 6-5 NEAC).

Winston also has 12 steals, 12 blocked shots and 41 assists thus far. She is averaging 5.3 rebounds per game with a total of 96 boards (23 offensive, 73 defensive). At the free throw line, she is shooting 33-for-43 (.767). In field goal shooting, Winston stands at 89-for-239 (.372) and 4-for-10 in treys.

Winston scored 21 points against Lancaster Bible on Jan. 23 and had 20 versus Cedar Crest back on Dec. 8.

Kutztown senior Ashley Wood (Spring-Ford) led the Golden Bears with 13 points, but Kutztown’s three-game winning streak was snapped in a 78-56 loss to Millersville. Wood had eight points, four rebounds and three steals earlier in the week in a win over Cheyney.

Wood recently scored the 1,000th point of her career.

WOMEN’S SWIMMING
Boston University senior Megan Happ (Spring-Ford) finished third in the 1,650 freestyle (17:32.27) during the Dartmouth Invitational. Last week, Happ took third in the 1,000 free (10:22.80) in a win over New Hampshire.

Akron freshman Erin Seiler (Spring-Ford) finished third in the 100 butterfly in a loss to Miami (Ohio).

MEN’S SWIMMING
Penn State junior John Hauser (St. Pius X) won the 200 free (1:39.37) and 500 free (4:32.54) in a 188-112 win over Navy. It marked the fourth win of the year for Hauser in the 200 and first in the 500.

At Bloomsbuerg, sophomore Aaron Cancro (Spring-Ford) finished third in the 200 back (2:04.72).

MEN’S BASKETBALL
Greg Peters (Phoenixville) is a 6-7 senior center/forward at DeSales University (16-3, 8-0).

Peters has scored 72 points in 14 games played for a 5.1 average. He is averaging 11.5 minutes played per outing with the Bulldogs.

In field goal shooting, Peters is 26-for-47 (.553) with an 0-for-4 mark in treys. At the foul line, Peters is 20-for-29 (.690). Peters has grabbed 54 rebounds (11 offensive, 43 defensive) for a 3.9 average per game. He also has five assists and three blocked shots.
