The Phoenixville Senior Bowling League is looking for Senior-aged bowlers to have fun bowling at Limerick bowl on Monday mornings. The league has about 50 bowlers, both men and women, who enjoy the exercise and the company of each other. Players dont have to live in Phoenixville and dont have to bowl well since the league is just to have fun. Interested bowlers are asked to join the group. Registration for the 2013 season for the Phoenixville Babe Ruth League boys, ages 13 to 15 years old, will be held at deSanno Field, Wheatland and Mason streets.

Registration for the Phoenixvile Junior Legion teams willl also be accepted at the same times. The registration dates are Saturdays, Feb. 2, 9 and 16. Times will be from 12 noon until 2 p.m.

The cost to cover umpire fees and other expenses for this season is $175 for PRBL, which includes 15 $5 raffle tickets. All new applicants must provide proof of his birth date.

Former Major League Baseball player and current Philadelphia Phillies scout Eric Valent, in conjunction with the Berkshire Baseball Club, will be conducting the first ever Eric Valent Baseball Evaulation Camp on Jan. 21, 2013, at the Keystone Fieldhouse, located on the campus of Kutztown University. The camp is for high school players with graduation years of 2013-2016. The primary purpose of this event is for each player to receive an honoest evaluation of their skill set at this time with projected growth in the future. All players will receive a scouting report by Eric Valent and other professinal scouts which they can provide for college coaches. The Montgomery County Bulldogs U11 Tournament Team is looking for three or four players to fill out their roster for the 2013 season. The Bloomsburg University softball team will be holding clinics for different softball skills in January and February of 2013. The four different clinics to choose from are pitching, hitting, infield and catching.

The pitching clinics will be held on Sunday, Jan. 13, and Sunday, Jan. 27. BU head coach and pitching coach Susan Kocher will be the main instructor, along with current BU softball pitchers. The pitching lessons will provide basic fundamentals for the windmill pitching motion, as well as learning how to throw a number of different pitches effectively. The pitching lessons are for softball players of any skill level. The cost is $45 per hour with Susan Kocher and $35 per hour with a BU pitcher.

The infield clinic will take place on Saturday, Feb. 2, and it will focus on taching the basic fundamentals of each infield position. It will run from 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at Nelson Field House and is open to players in grades 4-12. It is $45 for the session.

The catching clinic will also take place on Feb. 2 and it will run from 1:30-4 p.m. The clinic is open to players in grades 4-12. The clinic will teach catchers the basic fundamentals of blocking, fielding, throwing and receiving pitches. Players will need to bring a glove and catchng equipment.

The hitting clinic will be held on Sunday, Feb. 3. The cost of this session is $50 and there will be two different sessions to choose from. They will run from 9 a.m.-noon and 1-4 p.m. Players in grades 4-12 can sign up and then the players will be divided into groups, according to their age. Space is limited, so early registration is encouraged. The focus of the hitting clinic is to teach basic hitting technique and is designed to enhance the skills of the players by giving instruction on hitting various types of pitches.

A $25 registratin fee is needed in advance to reserve a place in the clinic. The balance is due the day of the clinic.
