POTTSTOWN - Phoenixville’s boys and girls swimmers each finished 1-1 in a tri-meet against Pottsgrove and Great Valley Tuesday.
The Phoenixville girls defeated Pottsgrove, 76-16, in a Pioneer Athletic Conference meet while the Phantoms fell to Great Valley, 50-44, in the non-league portion of the meet. Great Valley also defeated Pottsgrove, 78-14.
On the boys’ side, Phoenixville downed Pottsgrove, 59-35, and fell to Great Valley, 62-32. Great Valley also defeated Pottsgrove, 67-27.
Phoenixville’s Devonne Moore captured the 200-yard IM (2:22.31) and 100 breaststroke (1:12.04) and also swam the second leg on the winning 200 medley relay (2:01.0) as well as the third leg on the winning 400 freestyle relay (3:55.91).
Erin McElwee won the 100 backstroke (1:04.87) and swam the leadoff leg on the 200 medley relay and the second leg on the 400 freestyle relay. Shawna Moore took the 100 butterfly (1:05.80) and also anchored the 400 freestyle relay. Eileen Butler won the 500 freestyle (6:02.91) and swam the leadoff leg on the 400 freestyle relay.
In the boys’ meet, Phoenixville sophomore Josh Ziev won the 200-yard IM (2:22.14) and also anchored the winning 400 freestyle relay (3:49.62). Junior Bobby Newman, senior Jake Luzins and sophomore Jan Aclan comprised the rest of the quartet.
