DL Kennedy stars for Bloomsburg; Lohr lifts Vandy

Chris Kennedy, a Phoenixville resident and Archbishop Carroll High School product, helped lead Bloomsburg University to a 10-1 football record this fall in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC).

Kennedy, a defensive tackle, was voted first team All-PSAC East Division. He totaled 34 tackles, three sacks and one forced fumble for the Division II Huskies.

Rob Lohr (Phoenixville) helped Division I-A Vanderbilt win its sixth straight game, a 55-21 rout of host Wake Forest, last Saturday in Winston-Salem, N.C. Lohr, a senior defensive tackle, started his 37th consecutive game for the Commodores.

The 6-4, 290-pound Lohr made a quarterback hurry, three tackles for losses and six tackles overall in helping Vanderbilt wins its sixth straight game for the first time in 30 years and improve to 8-4 overall under coach James Franklin.

Lohr has been a starter since his sophomore year. He finished the season with 28 tackles, which upped his career total to 112 with 11 sacks and 29 tackles for losses, with one bowl game remaining on the schedule. It could be the Music City Bowl in Nashville, Tenn., which is also the home of the Vanderbilt campus.

In Division III, freshman defensive back Tyler Mejasic (Phoenixville, Bishop Shanahan) is playing for King’s College. Mejasic made five tackles (four solo, one assisted) against Wilkes University. Mejasic finished the season with 27 tackles (15 solo, 12 assists).
