PHOENIXVILLE —Thanksgiving is a time for eating, often times much more than we should. We all know how hard it can be to pass up that second piece of pumpkin pie or extra helping of stuffing. The Phoenixville Jaycees can help you take care of some of those extra calories with their third annual Burn Off the Bird 5k and 1-mile Fun Walk on Saturday, Nov. 24. starting 9 a.m. at Stepping Stone Education Center, 475 Grant Street, Phoenixville.

Pre-registration for the race is available through active.com and guarantees a long sleeve Dri-Fit shirt. Shirts will be available while supplies last.

“As an organization the Phoenixville Jaycees have worked hard to support the community,” said Andrea Barber, a Phoenixville Jaycee and chairperson of the event. “The Burn of the Bird race shows us how families come together, make donations and support each other during the holiday season.”

This year’s course takes runners around the scenic area of the Phoenixville’s north side and is similar to the race held 2010. There are some rolling hills that will definitely help burn some extra calories.
