PHOENIXVILLE — It’s that time of year again. Families are getting together for the holidays, thoughts of gifts coming to the children and people are full of community spirit. Last year the community spirit of Phoenixville was very much alive.

It’s time for Christmas Toys for Phoenixville. Last year community members helped more than 30 families with gifts for children that would not have had them, food for their holiday meal and even gifts for the parents. It’s only one day out of the year but one the children truly remember.

This year residents expect to help many more families and are asking for the community spirit again. There are three donation points in the borough: Petrucci’s Ice Cream on Nutt Road, Bridge Street Chocolates on Bridge Street and Salon Fiber on Main Street. Donation boxes will be at each of these businesses.

All help is greatly appreciated to be sure that every child in Phoenixville has a Christmas. Children from a few months old up to 17 were helped last year. Toys, gift cards and non-perishable foods are being collected and the collection started on Nov. 15.
