PHOENIXVILLE — The 2013 Phoenixville Relay for Life will mark the 10th anniversary!
The theme this year is “Disney: Wishing on a Star and Celebrating 10 Magical Years.” Residents of the Phoenixville area are invited to be a part of this milestone year. If you have participated in past years, you know what Relay is all about. Many people hear Relay and think it is a run or a race. It is not. The Relay for Life is a peaceful walk.
Although the main objective of Relay is to raise money for cancer research and cancer patients, the event is held to spread cancer awareness, celebrate the lives of survivors, remember those who lost their lives to cancer, support caregivers, and unite our community in the fight against cancer.
We have all been touched by cancer in one way or another...knowing someone who is fighting the disease, someone who has lost their battle, perhaps you are a survivor, or a caregiver. Every Relayer participates for his or her own personal reasons.
Ask your family, friends, neighbors and organizations to consider forming a team. Now is the perfect time to form a team. You can form a team on-line at www.relayforlife.org/paphoenixville.
The first team meeting will be held at 6 p.m., on Tuesday, Nov. 13, at Franklin Commons Bistro, 400 Franklin Avenue, Phoenixville. Please come and join us!
Make a difference in the fight for a cure.
