Parzival Academy holding second education talk in Kimberton

KIMBERTON — The Parzival Academy is laying the groundwork for an elementary school for children with learning differences, alternative learning styles, sensory and social sensitivities.
Parzival Academy is hosting the second of two introductory talksfrom 3 to 4 p.m. on Sunday Nov. 18 at the Station Bistro, 1300 Hares Hill Road, Kimberton, PA 19442. The presentation is titled, “Taking a Closer Look at a Struggling Child.” It will focus on the following questions: “When we observe that a child is struggling with academics, what is getting in the way?” and “how does behavior tell us what your child really needs?” Elizabeth Frishkoff, MSW, certified HANDLE practitioner, will present the program.
The previous talk was held on Oct. 14. Attendees heard about “Movement As a Tool for Learning the Academics.” The program focused on development of the brain and nervous system takes place in the context of the physical world. It is not a purely cognitive process. It was presented by Becky Rutherford, Special Education Teacher at Camphill Special School and School of Curative Education.
