Rep. Warren Kampf wins 157th District rematch over Paul Drucker

PHOENIXVILLE — Incumbent Warren Kampf will likely serve another term in the state House representing the 157th District.

Republican Kampf claimed to win the race over Democrat Paul Drucker, who formerly held the seat. Kampf won in 2010.

“Warren is obviously very excited to have won,” Sean Dempsey, Kampf’s campaign manager, said Tuesday night.

Unfficial results on the state’s website, with 100 percent of precincts reporting had Drucker and Kampf nearly tied in Chester County. Drucker was actually shown as leading with 9,505 votes and Kampf with 9,438 votes as of midnight.

In the six Montgomery County precincts, Kampf had 3,168 votes and Drucker stood at 2,786, according to unofficial results on the county’s web site.

As of Wednesday morning, Kampf had a total of 17,136 votes, or 51 percent of the total vote, to Drucker’s 16,379 votes, or 49 percent.

“The people spoke,” Dempsey said. “It’s a great victory. We’re very excited.”

Running on a platform of fiscal discipline in government, Kampf also said he looked to provide for “our local schools.”

Additionally, Kampf will look to reform state pensions by putting “all new hires in a 401(k)-style retirement sustem.”

Kampf serves as co-chairman on the state House’s life sciences committee. He also serves on the labor and industry, local government, consumer affairs, and urban affairs committees.
