Temporary shelter to be set up in Phoenixville

PHOENIXVILLE — Phoenixville Borough’s Office of Emergency Management is setting up a temporary shelter at 2 p.m. today (Monday) for residents who lose electricity, according to the borough’s website.

The shelter will be available at the Civic Center, 123 Main Street Phoenixville.

“Residents should bring a change of clothing,any medicines, oxygen or necessary supplies,” according to the message on the website. “All residents that anticipate a need for shelterare encouraged to seek shelter with friendsor family, and utilize this as a last resort.”

The borough reminds residents to only use 911 in the event of a true emergency. “Non-emergency storm-related issues” can be reported by calling 610-933-8801 ext 530 or 511.

According to the borough’s message, “Power outages should be reported directlyto your utility: for PECO, call 1-800-841-4141; for PPL, call 1-800-DIAL-PPL (1-800-342-5775).”
