Phoenixville Area High School’s football team for 2012 now has a 4-2 record in the Pioneer Athletic Conference (PAC-10) and 5-3 overall following two straight victories over Boyertown and Pope John Paul II in its Homecoming game last Saturday afternoon at Washington Field.
The Phantoms, coached by Bill Furlong, remain in strong consideration in the power points rankings for a District 1-AAA playoff berth.
Phoenixville has scored 227 points (28.4 average) while allowing 165 markers (20.6 average).
Senior running back Ryan Yenchick is among the area leaders in individual scoring with 15 touchdowns for 90 points to rank fifth in the area.
In kick scoring, Phoenixville senior Ian Harrigan leads the pack with 31 points on 22 extra points and three field goals.
Yenchick also ranks sixth in the area in rushing with 757 yards on 122 carrries for a 6.3 average.
Senior quarterback Chris Demey leads the area in passing rating at 162.4. Demey has completed 52 of 93 attempts for 897 yards with nine touchdowns and three interceptions. His completion percentage is 55.9.
Senior tight end Ryan Pannella is tied for ninth in receptions with 19 catches, good for 347 yards and an 18.3 clip.
Sophomore outside linebacker Zack Gallow has 3.5 sacks to tie for fifth best in the area.
