Saturday, Sept. 29

Spring-Ford placed sixth out of 19 schools with 85 girls competing at the 2012 Spring-Ford Girls Golf Classic Saturday at Linfield National Golf Club. The Rams totaled 378 strokes to finish behind Radnor (315), Central Dauphin (331), Hershey (350), STate College-A 357 and Boyertown (375).

Alyssa Cominsky led the Rams with an 85 (42-43). She was followed by Danielle Freed (45-49-94), Mikayla Koenck (45-53-98), Christina Naccarati (51-50-101) and Brandes Yenchick (51-53-104).

Phoenixville 5, Upper Merion 1: Shannan McErlean and Bailey Quinn each banged in two goals while T.J. Jefferis also scored as the Phantoms defeated the Vikings in a non-league game. Kellie Matson, Emily Chang, Ellie Delany and Jefferis each posted an assist for the Phantoms (7-1 PAC-10, 10-2-1 overall). E.J. Werner recorded seven saves.

Spring-Ford 2, Perkiomen Valley 1: Sammi Haas scored the game-winning goal off an assist from Gabby Major with 21:49 left in regulation time as the Rams nipped the Vikings in a key PAC-10 Liberty Division contest in Graterford.

The Rams (10-0, 13-0) took the lead when alyssa Chillano connected off a feed from Major with 8:44 left in the first half. The Vikings (5-5, 7-7) tied it as Annie Himsworth tipped in a cross by Kelsey Giese. Audree Bonavita racked up 22 saves, many of the outstanding variety, to keep PV in the game. Dante Vagnoni posted five saves for S-F, which is coached by former Phoenixville and Ursinus College star Jennie Moore.

Spring-Ford visits Phoenixville today at Washington Field in a makeup game that starts at 4:45 p.m. with the varsity game.

Saturday, Sept. 29

Phoenixville 2, Daniel Boone 1: Taylor Jefferis and Ali Meszaros scored goals to help the Phantoms edge the Blazers in a non-league game last Saturday morning at Washington Field. Bailey Quinn assisted on Jefferis goal. E.J. Werner had to make just one save in goal for the Phantoms.

Friday, Sept. 28

Spring-Ford 7, Pope John Paul II 1: Alyssa Chillano scored three goals while Savanna Malloy had two and Gabby Major one as the Rams downed the Golden Panthers in a PAC-10 game. Assists belonged to Major (two), Chillano and Sammi Haas. Kristi Sauermann scored a first-half goal for PJP.

Archbishop Carroll 8, Lansdale Catholic 0: Katie Kelly and Megan Kelly each scored two goals for the Patriots while Alyssa Lemons, Meredith Campbell, Maribeth Keith and Becca Zamojcin had single tallies in the Philadelphia Catholic League fray.

Assists went to Katie Kelly (three), Megan Kelly, Keith (two), Gabby Sutter and Michelle Walsh. Becca Brosious did not have to make any saves in goal for Carroll.

Tuesday, Sept. 25

Episcopal Academy 3, Archbishop Carroll 0: Alana Dumas, Kristy Schlarbaun and Kristy Kilmer scored for the Churchmen. Margaux Paolina had one assist. Becca Brosious recorded seven saves for Carroll.

Spring-Ford 0, Perkiomen Valley 0 (2 OT): Haley Puckett and Jenna Griggs combined for the shutout for the Rams in the PAC-10 matchup in Royersford. Kelly OBrien registered 20 saves for the Vikings.

Spring-Ford 4, Pope John Paul II 2: Simone Stewart had two goals for the RAms while Aley-Kate McKinley and Gabby Vagnozzi picked up single goals. Lillia Walls and Danielle Howarth tallied for the Golden Panthers.
