Annual Bark 4 Life of Phoenixville set for Oct. 7 at Reeves Park to raise money in the fight against cancer

PHOENIXVILLE Mans best friend will be once again joining in the fight against cancer.

Area residents and their dogs are invited to participate in the annual Bark 4 Life of Phoenixville on Oct. 7 at Reeves Park. Registration is from noon to 1 p.m. A blessing of the dogs will take place a 1 p.m. and the walk begins at 1:15 p.m. Money raised at Bark 4 Life goes to the American Cancer Society.

Bark 4 Life chairperson Shelley Endrey said last year 120 dogs participated and raised $6,000 in the fight against cancer.

Id just like to see the turnout getting larger each year, Endrey said. We are proud of the event and well be promoting it at the Kiwanis Community Day on Oct. 6 at Reeves Park.


All 4 Paws animal rescue will be returning this year. Residents that want to participate, but dont own a dog can rent one for the event.

Also returning is the ever popular Halloween Costume Pet Contest. Bring a costume for your precious pooch to wear.

The top three fundraisers will receive prizes.

Pet Valu of Norristown and Mickey by Matt travel agent will be some of the exhibitors at the event. In addition, Ashley Clay, owner of the Sugar Cube Cakes, Spring City, will be selling treats for people and dogs.

Bark 4 Life calendars will also be sold at the event.
