<![CDATA[Phoenixville School Board chooses environmental consultant for Meadow Brook site]]> PHOENIXVILLE >> The Phoenixville Area School Board decided to approve a local firm to be its environmental consultant for potential issues on the Meadow Brook Golf Club property.

Schuylkill Township-based Environmental Standards Inc. was hired for $46,617 to conduct testing on the site.

Initial testing in 2008 by another firm which was up for consideration, Advantage Engineering, of West Chester, showed there were three issues at the Meadow Brook site.

The driver of a red sedan was transported to the hospital as a result of the crash and a young girl was also taken to the hospital for evaluation after suffering minor injuries, sources said.

<![CDATA[Schwenksville High School Class of '64 honors teachers at 50th anniversary reunion]]> On Saturday, Sept. 27, the Schwenksville High School Class of 1964 honored Mr. Richard J. Carfagno of Harleysville and Mr. George E. Romasco of Collegeville at a dinner social held in observance of the 50th anniversary reunion of the class.

Mr. Carfagno taught math and Mr. Romasco taught English, first at Schwenksville High School and later at Perkiomen Valley High School when the school districts merged.

Members of the reunion committee include June Spieth Henzie, Pat Yenchick Hagarman, Dolores Emery Lauer and Helen Emery Raser.
