NORRISTOWN - An Allentown man has admitted to running a business involved in the illegal distribution of synthetic drugs and drug paraphernalia, primarily to gas stations and convenience stores in Montgomery and Lehigh counties.

Kenneth Zak Grossman, 54, of the 800 block of Chew Street, pleaded guilty in Montgomery County Court on Thursday to felony charges of corrupt organizations, possession with intent to deliver synthetic cannabinoids and conspiracy in connection with incidents that occurred between October 2011 and July 2012.

PHOENIXVILLE - While officials were trying to transport a mental health patient into an ambulance at Phoenixville Hospital, he escaped and ran up Route 29, disrupting Phoenixville High School's girls' soccer practice.

The escape occurred around 5:15 p.m. Tuesday.

He allegedly ran onto the field where the students were practicing under their coach's supervision.

SPRING CITY - An altercation between a man and his girlfriend allegedly left knife wounds on his hands around midnight Tuesday.

A Spring City Police officer was monitoring traffic from a patrol vehicle at the intersection of East Bridge and North Main streets just after midnight when a man ran up "shouting he had been stabbed," said an affidavit filed by that officer, James Robb.

Almost two weeks ago, a little girl with Alopecia posted on the "People Helping People" Facebook page that she was hoping to sell some handmade bracelets.

Those suffering from Alopecia lose all or most of their hair. As such, the girl wanted to use the profits from her bracelets to buy a pair of wigs: one for school, which was starting soon, and one for playtime.
