Water World Park, which routinely drew thousands of visitors to the borough over several decades, went up for bid Wednesday on-site at 655 Schuylkill Road (Route 724).

Despite media reports suggesting the property had sold at the auction, officials said Thursday the highest bid just wasn't high enough.

<![CDATA[Updated Schuylkill River Trail maps available]]> The Schuylkill River Heritage Area will hand out newly updated Schuylkill River Trail maps at no cost from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday.

Volunteers will be posted at 12 different trail heads from Philadelphia to Schuylkill County to hand out the maps to interested trail users.

The maps have also been placed at selected visitor sites, where it will be available while supplies last.

Clay For Water was created by Corey Johnson of CJ Pottery to raise awareness of and money for clean water access in developing countries like Nicaragua.

"We are all about educating people on both sides of the spectrum - people who have more than they know how to deal with, and people who have next to nothing," Johnson said in a telephone interview.
