FOOTBALL

Phoenixville Marian Youth Club (PMYC) will conduct registration for the 2013 Football/Flag & Cheerleading season at its Charlestown Park facilities beginning on Saturday, July 20, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. The facility is located behind Valley Forge Christian College.

Registration is for boys ages 5-14 years old. Additional registration dates are as follows: July 27, 10-12; July 29, 6:30-8; July 31, 6:30-8; Aug. 3, 10-12; Aug. 6, 6:30-8; Aug. 8, 6:30-8; and Aug. 12, 6:30-8.

All eligible players are required to register, including returning players. All new players are required to provide a copy of their birth certificates. All players need to have a parent or guardian present at the time of registration.

PMYC has provided the youth of Phoenixville and surrounding communites the opportunity to participate in youth football with no fee to participate for the past 58 years. For a complete listing of all upcoming dates, go to the Web site at PMYCSPORTS.COM.

The Phoenixville Phantoms Football Team will be holding a One Day Youth Clinic on Saturday, July 27, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Registration begins at 8-8:30 a.m. The cost is $15 per participant, which includes the clinic, T-shirt, hot dog, chips and a drink.

TENNIS

Summer tennis clinics through the Phoenixville Area Recreation Department are scheduled on a four-week program Monday through Friday that continues through July 19. The annual “Orange Crush” Tournament will be played July 22-27.

Clinics are designed for various ability levels of players entering Grades 2-12. Emphasis on the six basic strokes: forehand, backhand, volley, serve, lob and overhead along with singles and doubles play strategies.

Location is Phoenixville High School, Fisher Court and Kimberton Park.

Time is 9-9:30 a.m. for Beginners (Grades 2-5); 9:30-10 a.m. or Beginners (Grades 6-9); 10-10:45 a.m. Advanced Beginners; 10:45-11:30 a.m. Intermediate; and 11:30 a.m.-12:15 p.m. Advanced.

BASEBALL

The Keystone State College Coaches Clinic is in its second year. It runs from Saturday, Aug. 17-Sunday, Aug. 18, for players in Grades 9-12. Colleges from five states have been invited to attend, allowing players to showcase abilities in front of coaches. The camp, which runs from 9 a.m.-5 p.m., each day costs $200.

BASKETBALL

SOCCER

The Phoenixville Area Youth Soccer League (PAYSL) has opened its registration. PAYSL is a joint venture between Phoenixville Area Positive Alternatives (PAPA) and Dorsey Training Academy (DTA). The league is open to all players ages 6-12. All skill levels are welcomed.

The Phoenixville Area Junior Golf Program has announced its plans for the 2013 season.

Clinics will be held on the following dates: Thursday, July 18, at MeadowBrook Golf Club.

Play dates at MeadowBrook Golf Club are Thursday, July 25; and Thursday, Aug. 1. Meeting times are as follows: 14-16-year-olds, 8 a.m.; 11-13-year-olds, 9 a.m.; and 8-10-year-olds, 10 a.m.

Instructor is Harry Hammond, the master golf pro at Penn Oaks.
