Collegeville woman wins Best of Show in Devon hat contest

DEVON — Out of 100 contestants, Tiffany Arey of Collegeville won the Best of Show during the Ladies Day Tea and Hat Contest at the Devon Horse Show and Country Fair on Wednesday. Arey won her grand prize ribbon for best incorporating this year’s theme, “Propper Toppers”, or hats with a British flair.

The hat contest, in its second year, attracted many women and some young ladies who wanted to show off their chapeaux.

TV personality Carson Kressley was the judge of this year’s contest.

Also winning were Amy Holzapfel of Devon, who won the Best Hat to Toe category for the best overall ensemble, and Robin Sweet of Wayne won the Best of Devon category for her picnic basket hat, which judges said captured the spirit of the horse show and fair,

The hat contest was sponsored by Cartier.
