SKIPPACK Pennsylvania State Police confirmed Thursday afternoon that Matthew Royer, the college student who has been missing for more than a week, has been found unharmed.

The family does not want the location where Royer, 21, was found to be released and they are considering the issue of his disappearance closed, according to a press release from police.

The release also said the family appreciated the assistance and support of the public.

Royer was reported missing after he left his apartment at the University of Rhode Island around 6:30 p.m. on May 15. In earlier reports of his disappearance, police said Royer was driving to his house in Skippack when he disappeared.

There were reports that his car had been seen less than 35 miles from his Pennsylvania home at a gas station a day after he was expected home.

Police said in a Monday press conference that they suspected Royer was missing voluntarily.
