The Phoenixville boys program will conduct a 50-year celebration at 9 a.m. Saturday, May 11, at the high school’s Leo Scoda Tennis Courts. The day’s activities will feature open-court play starting at 9 a.m., a lunch in the middle school cafeteria and celebration program in the gymnasium at 2:30 p.m. Former players and their families are invited to attend. PMYC FIELD HOCKEY

Phoenixville Marian Youth Club (PMYC) field hockey registration for fall 2013 will take place at Charlestown Park.

Registration dates are as follows: Monday, May 30, 6-7:30 p.m.; Saturday, June 1, 9-10:30 a.m.; Tuesday, June 4, 6-7:30 p.m.; Thursday, June 6, 6-7:30 p.m. Saturday, June 8, 9-10:30 a.m.; and Tuesday, June 11, 6-7:30 p.m.

All players must have a parent or guardian present at registration. First-time players must bring a birth certificate at time of registration.

BASEBALL

Villanova Baseball Camps: Wildcat Youth Baseball Camp is scheduled for June 17-20 at a cost of $220. There is a savings of $30 for registration on line before June 1. A Wildcat Hitters Camp is set for July 15-18 for ages 7-12 and ages 13-18. Cost is $110. For ages 7-12, therer is a $20 discount when you register on line before June 1. The Millersville baseball coaching staff has opened registration for four summer camps aimed at high school level players. The camps including the Advanced Pitching/Catching Camp, Advanced Hitting Camp, Fire Cracker College Experience and Keystone State College Coaches Clinic.

The Advanced Pitching/Catching Camp and Advanced Hitting Camps both run from Monday, June 24-Tuesday, June 25, and are for players in grades 7-12. Both camps focus on mechanics, drills, video work and the mental approach. The camps run from 9-11:30 a.m. both days. Registration for both two-day camps is $100.

The Fire Cracker College Experience is for players in grades 9-12 and runs from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. on July 3. Space is limited to the first 30 applicants. This camp offers a unique learning opportunity for high school players. It is a highly instructional camp geared twoard each player’s goals of playing at the next level. Cost is $100 for the camp.

The Keystone State College Coaches Clinic is in its second year. It runs from Saturday, Aug. 17-Sunday, Aug. 18, for players in grades 9-12. Colleges from five states have been invited to attend, allowing players to showcase abilities in front of coaches. The camp, which runs from 9 a.m.-5 p.m., each day costs $200.

The 2013 Big 26 Baseball Classic has announced some plans. The best 26 players from Maryland and Pennsylvania will showcase their talents July 25-28 in a three-game series to be playted at Metro Bank Park, home of the Harrisburg Senators.

Pennsylvania Tryouts: Sunday, May 19; West tryouts at Mt. Aloysius College, Cresson, Pa., Registration is at 12 noon. Sunday, May 26, is the East tryouts at Lebanon Valley College, Annville, Pa. Registration is at 11 a.m. If more than 50 players, there may be a second tryout with registration at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 2, is the final tryout (if needed) at TBD registration at 11 a.m.

BASKETBALL

The PAPA/PBRD Summer Basketball League is a co-ed legue open to all youths ages 7-17. All games take place at Reservoir Park courts or C’Jon Saunders Park.

The first games will be played on Father’s Day, June 16, 2013, at the Father’s Day Community Celebration at the Reservoir Park courts. The subsequent games will played on Sundays throughout July and August. Some games may be played on Wednesday evenings, depending on the number of teams and if there are any rainouts.

Registration fee is $30 for PASD residents and $40 for non-PASD residents.

Financial aid discounts are available on a sliding scale basis by contacting Dolores Winston at the Phoenixville Area Recreation Department office at (610) 933-7728. There will be $5 late fees added after May 15.

Teams are needed for the Valley Forge Men’s Summer Basketball League. The league will be played in the Valley Forge Christian College gymnasium.

The Phoenixville Area Junior Golf Program has announced its plans for the 2013 season.

Clinics will be held on the following dates: Thursday, June 20, at MeadowBrook Golf Club; Thursday, June 27, at Ralphie’s Driving Range (formerly ForeSeasons Driving Range); Thursday, July 11, at Ralphie’s Driving Range; and Thursday, July 18, at MeadowBrook Golf Club.

Play dates at MeadowBrook Golf Club are Thursday, July 25; and Thursday, Aug. 1. Meeting times are as follows: 14-16-year-olds, 8 a.m.; 11-13-year-olds, 9 a.m.; and 8-10-year-olds, 10 a.m.

Instructor will be Harry Hammond, the master golf pro at Penn Oaks.

The Phoenixville Area Police Athletic League (PAL) in conjunction with the Pickering Valley Golf Course will conduct five, one-hour golf sessions for all kids between the ages of 7 and 13. The clinics will run from 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. every Monday, beginning on May 6, at the Pickering Valley Golf Course. The clinics will be conducted by golf pro Bobby Bohrer and assistant Joy Thompson. Kids will learn fundamentals on their golf swing and etiquette on and around the course.

The lesson dates will be as follows: Monday June 3, 10, 17, 24 and July 1.
