PHOENIXVILLE — Phoenixville Regional Chamber of Commerce will celebrate area residents and businesses that make a difference in the community during its annual awards dinner.
The 85th annual dinner is being held from 5:30 to p.m. on April 24, at Phoenixville Country Club, 355 Country Club Drive.
According to the awards committee, about 15 to 200 people attend the awards dinner each year.
The chamber hosts the awards dinner each year because it is in the by-laws and “we take that opportunity to recognize the work done by individuals in our community,” according to Crysta C. Peers, awards committee member.
Jessica Capistrant, chamber manager and awards committee member said the awards dinner honors “work by people that give tirelessly and strive to make Phoenixville a better place to work, live, play and do business.”
This year’s winners are Kathy Dietrich, Merit Award; Great Valley Nature Center, Community Betterment Award; The Fenix Bar and Only Results Fitness, Business Development Awards; Karen Coldwell, Outstanding Citizen of the Year and Jaworski’s Music Centre, Legend Award.
The chamber will also present a Chairman’s Award the night of the dinner. The award is presented “for excellence performed in a given job position here in the Phoenixville region.”
Kristen Hagopian will be the guest speaker for the event. Committee members said they feel Hagopian will be a good speaker because she “has great energy and wonderful experience and tips to provide to our membership about directing your passions.”
The chamber’s charter was started in 1928 so this is a special 85th year, Peers said.
